The Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs, Princess Emem Ibanga, on Monday, June 22, 2026, received a delegation from the Renewed Conditional Cash Transfer (CCT) Programme ahead of the June/July 2026 debit card distribution exercise across the state.
Welcoming the team, Princess Ibanga expressed confidence in the success of the exercise, noting that similar distributions had been successfully conducted in the past. She urged the team to engage Local Government Chairmen and other stakeholders to ensure effective coordination across the state’s 31 local government areas.
The Commissioner explained that the beneficiaries are not new entrants into the programme but individuals drawn from the State Social Register who had previously been captured under the initiative. She noted that the current exercise is a continuation of the payment process that commenced last year, aimed at ensuring the sustained delivery of benefits to eligible households.
“We will continue to work together to ensure the success of this programme as we move into the various local government areas. The coordinators have already been trained, so the exercise should not pose any major challenges,” she said.
The Commissioner also welcomed TeasyPay Financial Services Limited to the state, noting that other service providers, including Fortis Money, had previously handled similar assignments.
Earlier, the State Programme Manager of the Conditional Cash Transfer Programme, Mr. Innocent Okure, explained that the Renewed Conditional Cash Transfer Programme is a Federal Government intervention supported by the World Bank to provide financial assistance to vulnerable and low-income households.
He disclosed that TeasyPay Financial Services Limited, engaged by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) as the Financial Service Provider, will distribute 56,402 debit cards to registered beneficiaries across the 31 local government areas.
According to him, the exercise will commence on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, starting with Abak Local Government Area, while Tuesday, June 23, has been designated for the training of desk officers and other personnel involved in the exercise.
Speaking on behalf of TeasyPay, Mr. Ejike Godstime described the company as a licensed mobile money operator that has provided financial services since 2012. He reaffirmed the company’s commitment to a successful exercise, stressing the importance of collaboration among stakeholders.
Mr. Godstime confirmed that TeasyPay had arrived in the state with all 56,402 debit cards and assured that every eligible beneficiary would receive the intended support.
Also in attendance were the Permanent Secretary, Mrs. Eno Akpan; Head of Operations Conditional Cash Transfer Programme, Mr. Iniobong Okon; the State Grievance Redress Manager, Mr. Ekaiko Menyene; the Dean of LGA Desk Officers, Mr. Emmanuel Ekpo; the Training and Communications Officer, Mrs. Nkoyo Uboh; as well as other key officials of the programme.
